Thoughts on Grief from the OVS Team:

“Keeping a rountine for you other pets is esepcially important after a loss of a fur-baby. Other pets in the household will be confused by the disappearance of their loved one–so making sure that their lives are disrupted as little as possible is ideal.”

“Take your time to grieve. While some might think that the loss of a pet is not significant, but the truth is that a lot of people are closer to their pets than they are to a significant amount of their friends and family. Going out and getting a new pet right away, or diminishing feelings of sadness can cause confusion during times of grief. Taking your time to grieve the loss of a pet is important to healing.”
